Dear Reader,
I share here what I like and what works for me. If you've been following me, you know that I can change my mind from time to time, and feel free to comment that I'm completely wrong, you may be right. I'm not running a business. I'm not paid and have never received any compensation or facilitation for any review/brand/site here mentioned. In case one day we'll ever meet, I'll be the one offering you a cup of Italian coffee, too.

Jane Eborall's medium size seahorse: part II

You can find her pattern here:
Lo schema si trova a questo link:

Please note that she is the owner of the copyright for this pattern.

Remember that the thread on SH1 will go all along the ouside border. I've loaded SH1 with dmc size 80 blue (color number 798) ans SH2 with dmc size 80 variegated light blue (color number 67).

I followed Jane Eborall's visual diagram and her numbers for rings and chains.

Ring 10: After the last split ring (it was SR9), do not reverse work and start, very close to it, a normal ring: 2d, join to last SR9, 2ds, leave a picot space long enough to hold one of your beads, 2ds, another similar picot, 2ds more and close. I suggest to try if the picot lenght is ok, before continuing. In case it's not, you can easily untat the ring and adjust the picot's size.

R10
If you need help to open a ring, there're great tutorials online, I'd suggest these:

From Karen Cabrera's videos:
Lesson 40 - abrir anillo cerrado - Opening a closed ring

From Jon's blog:

If it's all ok, continue with fun!
Se è tutto a posto, andiamo avanti!

Chain: 10 ds - arco di 10nd
Ring 11: 3ds, put a bead in the last picot of R10 with the help of a hook, join to this beaded picot, 3ds, picot (same size as previous, as all these are going to host beads), 3ds, picot, 3ds, close.
chain, R10, R11
OOOPS! A little flaw! I just saw that I tatted more ds than needed! but you should be better than me, and follow her pattern, please! Remember that this R11 is 3+3-3-3, while next is 4+4-4-4 !!!
Uh oh!

Ring 12: 4ds, put a bead in the last picot of R11 with the help of a hook, join to this beaded picot, ds, picot (same size as previous, as all these are going to host beads), 4ds, picot, 4ds, close.
chain, R12
Chain: 8ds - arco di 8nd

Ring 13: 4ds, put a bead in the last picot of R11 with the help of a hook, join to this beaded picot, 4ds, picot (same size as previous, as all these are going to host beads), 4ds, close.
Warning: this ring has one picot less than previous! Of course I had to reopen this and untat 4ds! Be carefull and don't watch tv at this point!!

chain, R13
From now on, the head starts. There's still a SR to connect the body to the head:

Don't reverse work, start a split ring with SH2 thread:
SR14: with SH2 4ds, picot (that's for adding a bead to), 4ds, a very small picot, 1ds. With SH1 6ds. Close.
SR14
Chain: 4ds, very small picot, 4ds. - arco: 4nd, un piccolissimo picot di aggancio, 4nd.
SR15 and SR16: these are equal: with SH2 2ds, with SH1 6ds. Close.
SR15 e SR16 sono uguali, due piccoli split ring: con SH2 fare 2nd, con SH1 fare 6nd e chiudere.
chain, SR15

SR16
Without reverse work, start a chain: 4ds, bend a little your work, join to the small picot of previous chain. Tat 4ds more.
Fare altri 4nd.

In the next post, I'll show you from the eye to the end.

Ciao,
