It is only one round, worked with 2 shuttles filled both with DMC Spécial Dentelles Size 80, color numbers are 701 green and 666 red.

Tecniche: anello rovesciato (col filo della seconda navetta)
E' solo un giro, lavorata con 2 navette, il filo è DMC Spécial Dentelles 80, nei colori: 701 verde e 666 rosso.

what is going to ...?

As Christmas time is coming, I switched to a traditional colour combination that I like a lot, in fact DMC named these two xmas red and xmas green... But, what it's going to be? In the meantime, as with cold weather I start to suffer of tingling in hands, all my tatting go slower, and I don't know what is going to happen in a month, if I could finish the doily "under construction" or if I'll have time to test-tat two tiles already drawn. It's better to do one thing at a time, can I ever do it? Barbara wrote in her blog: " A journey of a thousand miles must begin with a single step". Also a long edging must start with a single knot...

Con Natale alle porte, sono passata a colori tradizionali, infatti DMC li chiama rosso natalizio e verde natalizio... Ma cosa sarà? Nel frattempo, visto che con i primi freddi comincio a soffrire di formicolio alle mani, tutti i miei lavoretti vanno a rilento, non so cosa succederà questo mese, se riuscirò a finire il centrino "in costruzione" o se avrò tempo di provare altre due piastrelline che ho già disegnato... E' meglio fare una cosa alla volta, ne sarò capace? Barbara  ha scritto così nel suo blog: "Un viaggio di mille miglia inizia con un solo passo". Anche un lungo bordino inizia con un solo nodo...

still in the square!

Those are four squares but I like how the center looks like it was a different little motif. This time I haven't used any color scheme, they are so neutral colors. I just want to note that, for each motif, the center is all ecrù coming from one shuttle and the outer of the motif is all the variegated thread coming from the second shuttle. I should dare to tat it again with complementary colors.
Techniques: only an SCMR to tat the center ring.
It is only one round, worked with 2 shuttles filled with ecrù and variegated brown (color number 105), thread is DMC 80.

Sono quattro piastrelline, ma sembra che nel centro ci sia un fiorellino lavorato a parte. Stavolta non ho seguito alcuno schema per i colori, sono tinte abbastanza neutre, voglio solo dire che il centro delle piastrelle è venuto tutto ecrù, mentre la parte esterna è venuta tutta col filo sfumato della seconda navetta. 
Tecniche: solo un SCMR per fare il cerchietto centrale.
E' solo un giro, lavorato col filo DMC n. 80, ecrù e marrone sfumato numero 105.

80 cm of ds

That necklace is worked with 2 shuttles, filled with two threads, green (and yellow, for the flower) 100% pure silk (seta Faro) and DMC n.282 gold metallic thread. Beads were stringed in both shuttles.
The necklace's lock is a "button and loop" style fastening, with a little faceted green agate, that it's used to lock the flower, too.
The flower is removable, and it could be used on another button as well. On the back of the flower I sewed a rounded piece of imitation leather, leaving a little bottom hole. In that way, the flower could be used on another garment.
I like the way the flower came out, and I think I should make a tutorial for it. To not forget, ehm, mainly...

Questa collana è stata fatta con 2 navette, riempite con 2 filati, quello verde (e il giallo del fiore) è di pura seta, marca FARO,  l'altro è il filo metallizzato oro della DMC, n.282. Le perline le ho inserite direttamente nel filo delle navette.
La chiusura a bottoncino ha una piccola agata sfaccettata, che serve anche come centro del fiore. Per il fiore  ho cucito un pezzettino di finta pelle sul retro, con un'asola per la pietra. Il fiore si può levare e abbottonare anche su un altro capo d'abbigliamento.
Mi piace come è venuto il fiore, penso che dovrei fare un tutorial, principalmente per me, ehm...

where's the baby look now?

Here you are a necklace from pattern quad 05 (see on flickr), the one tatted with baby pink and baby blue....You should clearly recognize the center, that is the beautiful ANKARS-style Hair Clip by Stephanie Wilson (well, nearly that). I sewed it at the end. 
I've used two shuttle filled with two threads, Perfect Quilter sent by Fox - the survivors -  and gold DMC n.282 metallic thread (3 strands).

(I'm still half way drawing patterns for quad 11  and 12...)

Questa collana è realizzata con lo schema della piastrella quad 05, che trovate su flickr, quella che avevo lavorato con i colori rosa e celeste confetto... Sicuramente, però, riconoscerete la parte centrale, fatta separatamente e cucita alla fine, che è il fiorellino creato da Stephanie Wilson. 
Ho usato due navette, riempite con filo oro DMC n.282 e la rimanenza dei campioni -"sopravvissuti" alle varie prove!- di Perfect Quilter spediti da Fox. 
(Intanto sono ancora bloccata nella stesura degli schemi per le piastrelle 11 e 12...)

a necklace from pattern quad 03

That is another square, this time I've used an old ecrù thread which I found in my stash ... I can't remember how many time it's been stored, but it's still clean to be used. It's size 50, "made in Croatia", simply called "cordonnet", 100% cotton. I like the final result, this cotton is soft and fluent, maybe it'd be worth to continue with other squares, at least 4 more.
Questa è un'altra piastrella, stavolta ho usato un gomitolo ecrù che avevo da parecchio ... non so dire da quanto, ma è ancora bello pulito per essere usato. E' un filo numero 50, "made in Croatia", la dicitura sulla targhetta dice solo "cordonnet", 100% cotone. Mi piace il risultato, questo filo è morbido e scorrevole, forse val la pena fare qualche altra piastrella, almeno altre 4.

Maybe you've been guessing what it's happened with the "under construction" doily. I've tatted some flowers to be attached around the central round, and they're ready to be pin together over the polar grid, as I need to figure out how to join all different parts.
I usually draw my grids with Inkscape, but there's a site where you can print a lot of different grids for free: Printable Paper's Free Graph
Forse vi siete chiesti cosa è successo al centrino "under construction". Ho fatto dei fiorellini che voglio attaccare attorno al giro centrale, e ora sono pronti per essere spillati sul foglio con le guide, visto che ho bisogno di capire come unire tutte le parti insieme.
Di solito le griglie le preparo da me, con Inkscape, ma se vi serve, ci sta un sito con delle griglie stampabili gratuitamente: Printable Paper's Free Graph Paper

I noted that my smartphone doesn't like png file's type, since lately I saved pattern's image with this file format. So, that's a question: png is reccomended for text and clipart, but what do YOU prefer? should I save them as jpg/jpeg on flickr or as png? (I've googled "jpeg vs png" and found this comic by Louis Brandy. )
Let me know what do you think ...

Ho notato che il mio telefonino non mi fa vedere le foto degli schemi salvati in png, formato che uso ultimamente per gli schemi. PNG è consigliato per salvare file di testo e clipart, ma VOI che preferite? Mi chiedo: devo usare jpg/jpeg oppure png per gli schemi su flickr? (Con una piccola ricerca su google di "jpeg vs png" ho trovato anche un fumetto di Luis Brandy.)
