I can't believe that I've already 11 tatted squares! Oh, well, they're a lot more, since there are some flawed, some are modified on going and asymmetric, some are cup shaped ... I like tatting them, and creating new drawings keeps me busy. Some people like crosswords, some others like tatting-puzzles. I'm of the second kind.
Thank you a lot for your lovely words left in this tiny corner of internet, you make me feel motivated to continue the series.

Techniques: SCMR.
It is only one round, worked with 2 shuttles filled both with Perfect Quilter (thank you Fox!) color numbers are 099 green and 062 variegated.


Non ci posso credere: sono già all'undicesima piastrella! Oh, beh! veramente sono molte di più, dal momento che ce ne sono altre difettate, modificate in corso d'opera e asimmetriche, qualcuna che non ne vuole proprio sapere di rimanere piatta ... Mi piace farle e creare nuovi schemi mi tiene occupata. Ad alcuni piace fare le parole crociate, ad altri piace creare schemi per il chiacchierino. Io sono del secondo tipo.
Grazie moltissimo per i vostri commenti così carini che lasciate in questo mio cantuccio di internet, mi fate sentire più motivata ad andare avanti.

Schema per i colori: contrasto di colori complementari. Se volete, per questo schema di colore visitate il sito COLORBAY, davvero notevole, e in particolare seguite il link indicato come "fresh and vital", sotto la scritta "lesson #14: color harmony sheets".
Tecniche: anello su falso anello.
E' solo un giro, lavorata con 2 navette, il filo è il Perfect Quilter (grazie Fox!), nei colori: 099 verde e 062 variegato.

That thread is a "jumbo size" respect my usual n. 80. It is a DMC Cebelia number 8, and I thought it was quite good to show those twisted rings, they look like chubby barlines, almost invisible with n. 80 thread. However, it's not a so taking drawing, it could have been better. Next time!

Il filo che ho usato qui è enorme rispetto al mio solito filo n.80. E' un filo DMC Cebelia numero 8, e ho pensato che fosse adatto per far vedere meglio quei cerchietti tutti accartocciati, che sembrano strane e cicciotte barrette. Comunque, non è un disegno granchè, avrebbe potuto essere meglio. Sarà per la prossima volta!

necklace finished

That's how it was given away. I found a beautiful swarovsky rhinestone that fits perfectly, it has a nice reflection similar to the petroleum color of glass beads. I sewed it with an invisible sewing thread 100% polyamid. The necklace's lock is a "button and loop" style fastening, with a little faceted agate.

Ecco come è andata a finire. Ho trovato uno strass swarovsky che sembra fatto apposta, con gli stessi riflessi color petrolio delle perline. L'ho cucito con un filo invisibile 100% poliammide. La chiusura l'ho realizzata a bottoncino, con una piccola agata sfaccettata.

a focal point

I've tatted that necklace in the last 2 monthes, not continually, so I've changed my mind few times, thinking first at it as a bracelet, then as a necklace, now it became a gift, so I need a focal point that could be close to my friend's style, a little different from mine. That could be a challenge, we usually choose with our own taste ... What do you suggest for the center? Should I leave it empty? Or should I put somenthing rounded or squared, black? brown? I'm thinking to a semiprecious stone like amber, but I don't have any at home that could match.

It's worked with 2 shuttles, filled with two threads, brown silk (seta Faro) and DMC n.282 gold metallic thread. Beads were stringed in both shuttles.

 Ho avuto tra le mani questo lavoro per due mesi e nel frattempo, da braccialetto è diventato collana... adesso mi serve per regalarlo ad un'amica, così mi servirebbe qualcosa da mettere al centro del ciondolo che sia vicino al suo stile, un poco diverso dal mio. E' sempre difficile scegliere secondo i gusti di qualcun altro... Voi cosa suggerite? Devo lasciare il centro vuoto? O metterci qualcosa di rotondo o quadrato? Nero? Marrone? Sto anche pensando a una pietra dura, come l'ambra, ma non ho niente in casa che possa andare bene. 
Ho usato due navette riempite con due fili, uno marrone di seta Faro e l'altro oro metallizzato n.282  della DMC. Le perline le ho caricate nel filo di entrambe le navette.

Just to let you know, my official English level as a foreign speaker is B1- INTERMEDIATE (European Council Level). That means - and it is - that I simply can't "understand a wide range of demanding, longer texts, and recognise implicit meaning". But I try. I do my best effort because I love communicate with all of you and I thank you very very much for your patience in reading me.
That motif is the 9th square, rather "they are" the nineth evolving pattern, with a lot of INTERMEDIATE attempts between. The last in the left bottom is the last, I'm happy with that, it has a good edge connection with the previous motif.
Color scheme: primary colours.
Techniques: split ring to climb from first to second round.
It is 3 rounds, worked with 2 shuttles, both filled with Perfect Quilter threads sent by Fox, I don't know which color number they are, This thread is very similar to DMC #80, but it's softer.

Giusto così per parlare, il mio livello di inglese viene classificato intermedio, B1 (European Council Level). Questo per dire che non riesco a capire testi lunghi e complicati e a cogliere eventuali battute o allusioni. Ma ci provo. Faccio del mio meglio perché adoro comunicare con tutti voi e vi ringrazio tantissimo per la pazienza che mettete nel leggermi.
Questa piastrella è la nona, o meglio, "tutti questi" sono la nona piastrella, con diversi tentativi intermedi. L'ultima in basso a sinistra è quella che mi piace di più, si attacca bene alla precedente.
Colori: primari (mi pare che ci sono tutti)
Tecniche: ho solo usato l'anello spezzato per passare da un giro all'altro senza tagliare i fili.
Ho usato due navette riempite col filo Perfect Quilter spedito da Fox, somiglia molto al DMC #80 ma risulta più morbido.

That is another square. (You might want to have a look at the whole set "granny squares" on flickr). I'm naming all these as "quad_xx" because in Italian square is "quadrato" (and "piastrella" means tile). I've little imagination for names, isn't it?
Color scheme: primary colours. (I've just played with my iphone changing tones. Very fast but only virtual reality! Sigh!)
Techniques: SCMR and split rings.
It is only one round, worked with 2 shuttles filled with DMC #80 thread color 666 (red) and the variegated is Perfect Quilter, that is part of the great treasure sent by Fox, I don't know which color number is.

Questa piastrella fa parte di un set di foto su flickr, se volete potete seguire il link "my tatting" in alto a destra. Le sto semplicemente numerando, ho poca immaginazione per i nomi!
Lo schema per i colori: colori primari della luce.
Tecniche: anello su falso anello e anello spezzato - o catena di anelli  (Self Closing Mock Ring e Split Ring, ci sono i video di Karen e i pdf di Jane Eborall!)
E' un solo giro, lavorato con 2 navette, una col rosso 666 della DMC, filo #80, l'altra col filo variegato che fa parte del tesoretto spedito generosamente da Fox, non so il numero né il colore.

Under Construction

How many times did you get that message on a web page? Not a justification, but a way to beg your pardon: I'd like putting some personal info and making the blog list longer, only give me time. In the meantime, I've another doily "under construction". I started it in august and in this pic you can see my doodles, I've already decided how to proceed but those were my starting drawings. Which is the max size of your doilies? Mine are all A4 size, due to my home printer!! I use to print a polar grid and try to let the doily fit on it. (P.S. I beg your pardon for my English, too! It's still and permanently under construction!)

Quante volte avete trovato "under construction" su una pagina web? Non mi voglio giustificare, è solo un modo per chiedervi scusa: vorrei aggiungere info personali e allungare la lista dei blog che seguo, datemi tempo. Nel frattempo, ho un altro centrino "in costruzione". L'ho iniziato in agosto e potete vedere tutti i miei scarabocchi, ho già deciso come continuare ma quelli erano i primi schizzi. Quanto sono grandi i vostri centrini? I miei sono "taglia" A4, perchè mi stampo in casa una griglia e cerco di far stare il centrino bello piatto.

my card is a shuttle

Last july, I needed at hand cards to introduce me, but also something to fast demonstrating how to tat. I thought to combine both in that card shuttle, in fact I used it folded and wound with shoelaces. I gave away one of such "shuttle" and a shoelace to everyone who have tried tatting with me!

Il mio bigliettino da visita "è" una navetta! Lo scorso luglio avevo bisogno sia di un bigliettino di presentazione, sia di qualcosa per mostrare come si lavora a chiacchierino. Così ho pensato di unire le due cose ed è venuto fuori questo: un cartoncino con un laccio di scarpe arrotolato, da regalare a chiunque volesse provare il chiacchierino con me!
