These are some missing picots, missing ds, missing mind...
And here it is the Morimoto's last round, still not full of thread, it wanted more of it for the last 3 repetitions but I made do with what I had. Not enough to complete the round. What a lovely justification to go shopping!
But in the meanwhile, Dr. Downplay had a brilliant idea, in that way nobody will ever know our "terrible" secret!!
The doily is quite big as the mystery doily (that was tatted with thread size 40) and it's lovely, I really like how it turned out! Thank you Tomoko Morimoto (the designer)!
I bought a "virtual" version of her book, anyway Google still didn't persuade me that I own a copy because I can only access it when I'm connected to the web. Two days ago, I hadn't connection for unknown reasons, nor I could read the book :(
There're advantages too: no dust on it, more space in the shelf, zoom on text and images (that's a wonderful thing when you start having sight problems)!
This is a link to find her book in Google Play Books: New Tatting : Modern Lace Motifs and Projects
Ciao,

Yes, it is a lovely pattern. Love the "missing mind!" : ))
ReplyDeleteTy! Yes, it happens! :))
Deletevery nice and funny :) and sometimes if I have the pattern online or not I take a picture with my phone so I can sit somewhere else to tat and have instructions with me.
ReplyDeleteThank you! Good idea, I've done the same with Anne Orr's instructions for the large doily, very practical.
DeleteBeautiful doily!! :)
ReplyDeleteThank you!

ReplyDeleteVery 'crafty' !!!
Now for the next 'meal' , Yummmmm ;-P

DeleteLovely, lovely! Great picture with the doilies reflected, I like that. Interesting about not being able to access your book. Annoying when you want to get on with the job.
ReplyDeleteActually she let you download a pdf for some visual patters in the book, I did it for the doily. But I just wanted to browse the book again, it's a lovely book.
DeleteLovely pattern and fantastic execution. As always!!
ReplyDeleteHow do you buy a "virtual" book and have conditional access to it?
Ty! :) yes, the "cloud" concept....
