The pattern requires two coloured thread, 2 shuttles and 32 beads. She wrote that you may want a bigger bead for the eye, but I'd say that it must fit inside a ring of a total of 9ds. I decided to use a bead of the same size for the eye. In any case, try it before starting.

Lei suggerisce di usare una perlina diversa per l'occhio, ma aggiungerei che si deve far attenzione alla grandezza, dovrà entrare in un cerchietto di 9 nodi doppi in totale, perciò conviene fare qualche prova prima di iniziare. Io ho usato lo stesso tipo di perlina anche per l'occhio.

The tail is formed with 9 split rings (abbreviated: SR).

Note that the thread on SH1 will go to the ouside border of the tail. It will curve as a spiral, with the inside coloured with thread put on SH2.

I read carefully Jane's tips and started a normal ring. The very first ring is very tiny, and it's difficult to hide ends. So we need a little experimenting.

I followed her visual diagram and rings' numbering.
SR1: I started as a normal ring with SH1. I made the first half Knot and hid the end of the SH2 thread inside the loop, along the core thread. Then I continued hiding  the end of SH2 inside. Then  (I tat the SR without reversing work, the "dead spider method"), I hid the SH1 end inside the second part of the split ring.
Ho seguito il suo diagramma e la sua stessa numerazione degli anelli.
SR1: ho iniziato come in un normale cerchio con la prima navetta. Ho fatto la prima parte del nodo e ho nascosto il capo libero della seconda navetta dentro il loop, lungo il filo portante. Poi ho continuato a nascondere il capo di SH2 dentro gli altri nodi. (Di solito per fare la seconda parte dello SR, uso il metodo del "ragno capovolto"). SR1 requires 2 ds with SH1 and with SH2 1ds, picot, 1ds. Close the ring and bravely cut the ends.
SR1 richiede di fare 2nd con SH1, mentre con SH2, la seconda parte dello SR è formata da 1nd, 1 picot, 1 nd. Si chiude e "coraggiosamente" (!) si tagliano i capi.

SR2: without reverse work, start a second ring with SH1: 3 ds. With SH2: 1 ds, join to the picot of previous ring, 1 ds more, 1 picot, 1 ds. Close.
Senza girare il lavoro, cominciare il secondo SR con SH1: 3 nd. Con SH2: 1nd, unirsi al picot del precedente anello (vedi video di Karen), 1 altro nd, 1 picot, 1 altro nd. Chiudere.

SR3 and SR4: they are equal: with SH1 4 ds, with SH2 1ds, join to previous ring, 2 ds, 1 picot, 1 ds. Close.
SR3 e SR4: sono uguali: con SH1 fare 4nd, con SH2 fare 1nd, agganciarsi al cerchio precedente, 2nd, 1picot, 1nd. Chiudere.

SR3, SR4

SR5 and SR6: they are equal: with SH1 5 ds, with SH2 1ds, join to previous ring, 3 ds, 1 picot, 1 ds. Close.
SR5 e SR6: sono uguali: con SH1 fare 5nd, con SH2 fare 1nd, agganciarsi al cerchio precedente, 3nd, 1picot, 1nd. Chiudere.

SR7: with SH1 6 ds, with SH2 1ds, join to previous ring, 4 ds, 1 picot, 1 ds. Close.
con SH1 fare 6nd, con SH2 fare 1nd, unirsi al precedente anello, 4 nd, 1 picot, 1nd. Chiudere.

SR8: with SH1 6 ds, with SH2 1ds, join to previous ring, 5 ds. Close. 
con SH1 fare 6nd, con SH2 fare 1nd, unirsi al precedente anello, 5nd. Chiudere.

Shoelace trick, to switch shuttles. Start a ring with SH2.Fare un nodo semplice con le due navette, questo serve a scambiarle di posto e iniziare il cerchio successivo con SH2. Perciò dopo avvolgere attorno alla mano la seconda navetta.

SR7, SR8 and sholace trick

SR9: with SH2 4 ds, 1 picot, 2 ds. With SH1 4 ds. Close.
con SH2 fare 4nd, 1 picot, 2 nd. Con SH1 fare 4nd. Chiudere.
