I took some photos to show the gauge I've used between rings. It's very difficult to keep the distance by sight, so even I rarely use a gauge, that's one of those situations.

I love the look of a measured gauge but struggle with how this measuring slows down tatting momentum, but know it looks so nice, I wish there was a easier way to measure picots.
ReplyDeleteI've heard about henna dots on finger...
DeleteThat is a good idea!
DeleteHope you will soon feel much better.
ReplyDeleteThank you Gracie
DeleteHope you feel better soon! Yes, bare thread spaces are hard to measure by eye, time to use a gauge. Carrolyn is right that it is a bit awkward, but better than having odd spaces.
ReplyDeleteTy Jane and I like a lot this doily. I don't care about how much time I'll need.
DeleteLove the new word! : )) Hope you are soon feeling chipper! the motif looks amazing.
ReplyDeleteTy! (I can't take a rest with you! chipper is another new to me!)
DeleteThis is coming along very nicely. Hope you feel better soon.
ReplyDeleteThank you Robin
DeleteBeautiful work even up close. I can't imagine how hard it would be to not use a gauge when working with bare thread. Such a lovely pattern.
ReplyDeleteYes I agree. I've had the gauge as a present, before that, I used all sort of cut cards, even toothpicks! Ty Bernice.
DeleteHope you are well on your way to rosy pink health, Ninetta ! I Finally got to see the pics you posted & am wowed :-)) I can see the orange "seeping" out sneakily . I, too, had cut out a make-shift picot gauge last year, out of cardstock. Love the one you are using - very compact & handy :-)
ReplyDeleteTy muskaan, I fell a little better :) that's a very professional gauge, isn't it? It's from hhtatting.
DeleteIn this pattern, using a gauge is a must, but so difficult to do. Maybe tatters should have a tatoo anyway: dots on our fingers!!
ReplyDelete:)) !
DeleteCiao Ninetta spero che tutto vada bene!!!
ReplyDeleteI tuoi lavori come sempre sono una favola ...
Un bacione grande ...
grazie Manu, ciao!
