That post is for you, Frivole!
In 2012 Yumatatter shared in a group her way to make a double tatting shuttle at home, I loved that idea so much that I tried to make one on my own, with what I had at home. So that's what I came to:
It was a fun, and it works too!!
Both photos were taken in 2012.

Dear Reader,
I share here what I like and what works for me. If you've been following me, you know that I can change my mind from time to time, and feel free to comment that I'm completely wrong, you may be right. I'm not running a business. I'm not paid and have never received any compensation or facilitation for any review/brand/site here mentioned. In case one day we'll ever meet, I'll be the one offering you a cup of Italian coffee, too.

Very cool! Thank you very much for showing me Ninetta. How do the bobbins hold in place please? I think I may have found a solution to my problem but yours is something to try too. :-)
ReplyDeleteThat was something I discovered in the process. I used those caps from forniture, similar to little top caps for BIC pens, but they have a texture that doesn't let the bobbin slide. Bobbins can be taken off and they keep in place with normal fingers' pressure.
DeleteAh, thank you! I need to go on the search… :-)
DeleteThat's interesting Ninetta. I've tatted with two aero shuttles side by side, but that's not very secure.
ReplyDeleteGreat solution !!! Will surely try this . In fact, I can make some of 'normal' size where sewing bobbins can be used. I have so many bobbins now, but a broken shuttle :-(
ReplyDeleteEyes in search of materials now ...... ;-P
Thanks you :-)
